The Center for Adventist Research is based in the James White Memorial Library (Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan, United States) and is a combination of an Adventist Heritage Center and a branch office of the Ellen G. White Estate. In addition, the Center hosts the Seventh-day Adventist Periodical Index for the Association of Seventh-day Adventist Librarians (ASDAL), houses the Andrews University Archives and Record Center, serves as rare materials repository for the James White Library, houses the Adventist Digital Library (ADL), and actively cooperates in the educational program of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary and the collection activities of the Seminary library.

Located within the Vernier Radcliffe wing of the Del E. Webb Memorial Library of Loma Linda University (Loma Linda, California, United States), the Center was formed through the combination of the Department of Archives and Special Collections and an Ellen G. White Estate Branch Office. The Center exists to capture, preserve, document, and promote research into the history and legacy of Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center (LLUAHSC), Ellen G. White, Adventism and the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the health sciences with particular attention to where health and Adventism intersect. Furthermore, the White Estate Branch Office seeks to guide and facilitate an understanding of Ellen G. White’s life, writings and role in the Seventh-day Adventist church, and Loma Linda University in particular. This includes a robust Digital Archives full of archival materials including Loma Linda University historic publications, photos and documents; Seventh-day Adventist historic publications, photos, bookmarks and other documents.

The Oakwood University Archives is the depository for the historical records of Oakwood University and Black Adventism. The University Archives sees its mission as acquiring, preserving, and making available materials of value, which focus on alumni, faculty, administrators, staff, the history of Oakwood University and Black Seventh-day Adventists. Opening in 1973, the department houses the earliest documents in connection with the founding, purchasing, and the managing of the University's property. The records include board meeting minutes, presidential papers, yearbooks, school newspapers, bulletins, dissertations, photographs, administrative and academic departments' records, oral histories and stories. In addition to the document collections, the Archives houses photographs, videotapes, audiotapes, filmstrips, and slides. It is located on the lower level of the Eva B. Dykes Library at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, United States.

The Archives & Special Collections acquire, preserve, and make available items relating to the history and development of Pacific Union College and the Seventh-day Adventist Church, especially in Northern California and the Pacific Rim. The Pitcairn Island Study Center focuses on Pitcairn Island history, especially as it relates to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
