We are pleased to announce that the Archives as well as the Records Center of the West-Central Africa Division (WAD) have both been accredited with "Approved" status! This recent achievement was the culmination of a process that began over two and a half years ago when they were initially visited by the Director of ASTR, Dr. David Trim. Throughout this period, the Division made significant steps to develop and continually raise the caliber of their Archives, and their Records center.
Two senior members of ASTR visited the Division Headquarters in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) where the Archives and Records Center are located. After a thorough accreditation process, the verdict was that they passed with distinction. Archives or records centers can receive accreditation either as Emerging (the lowest grade and intended to be temporary), as Recognized, or as Approved. WAD has also attained the honor of being the first Division Archives as well as first Records Center to be Approved! We applaud WAD for their efforts and commitment to proficiently work to preserve the history of our church.
